Mt. Hood Angels is passionate about technology and other emerging markets and is investing money as a business investor, incubator and accelerator to help entrepreneurs and startups establish and grow emerging businesses all across Oregon.
As experienced entrepreneurs, investors and corporate executives, we know something about startups. We know what it takes to nurture and grow your business into a world-class organization. We assist our portfolio companies by applying our collective experience growing startups and our knowledge and relationships within the Angel and Venture finance industry, to help founding teams create powerful organizations that will create local jobs, bring new revenue to Oregon, and which have potential to change the world.
Mt. Hood Angels helps guide and mentor startups through the early stages of business development and expansion. Investment Criteria
Mt. Hood Angels is Seeking Companies that:- Have a quality product that will solve a significant customer and/or market need and the ability to grow and achieve solid ROI results.
- Have an experienced management team with a proven track record.
- Have evolved to stage of having customers and revenues.
- Have “Skin In The Game”
- Have a clear critical path to exit (3 to 7 years)
- Offer healthy returns of 7-10x
- Have capital needs from $50k to $1M.

We will then contact you to arrange a short interview to gain further insight into your business. Following this initial interview we will:
- invite you to an initial screening presentation;
- Connect you with one of our members for help in evolving your business plan; or,
- Be turned down as unlikely to receive funding from our members
A business plan or detailed pitch deck is required and applications can post any additional documents at any time during the due diligence process including anything that would assist Mt. Hood Angels’ review process. Additional documents can include financial forecasts, business plans, executive summary, detailed team bios, term sheets, customer information, etc.
Your Presentation
Your slide deck/presentation should be a .PDF or PowerPoint presentation. The presentation should cover the following key areas:
- What your Company does and why it will succeed.
- Who the team is.
- Milestones you’ve completed.
- How much money you’re raising and at what valuation.
- Use of Funds and Milestones to be completed with the proceeds from this capital raise.
- The critical path necessary to achieve exit.
- Historical financials if available and projections.
- Any other critical or interesting details exclusive to your business.

Pitch Deck Guidelines
- Suggested Core Slide Deck: 15 to 30 Slides
- Typical Deck Variations: 2 min.(5 slides), 5 min.(10 slides), 10 to 20 min.(15 to 30 slides)
- Keep slides clean, no clutter: ~1-5 bullets/slide, ~5 -10 words/bullet & big clear images
- Show, Don't Tell: Don't be cocky/braggy/arrogant, just show amazing/incredible results!
- Show "super simple" images, graphics and diagrams (that need little to no explanation)
- Key Takeaways: Concisely summarize main points at the top or bottom of slides.
- Deck Should be Simple and Understandable without a presenter to explain it.
- Check for typos, math errors or internal inconsistencies (#widgets on slide A vs. slide B)
- Consistent Formatting: Caps vs. lowercase, colors, font type, font size, spacing, etc.
- Font Type: Arial (No odd looking letters = Easy to read)
- Don't Use "-" as Bullets: They look negative, use other styled bullets
- Add Page Numbers (Botom right of page)
- Backgrounds: Dark backgrounds with light text colors project well, but use lots of printer ink to print. You can also use white/light backgrounds with black/dark color font.
